Last month the European Court of Justice ordered search engines to accept requests from individuals to remove links connected to their names. Anti-corporatism advocates applaud the ruling, calling it a victory for personal privacy, but critics worry about limits on free speech and the ability of people to “whitewash” themselves on the internet.
