Jack Newell heard a story on NPR’s Planet Money about what it costs to build a school in Haiti. The school had run out of money and an American contractor decided he wanted to help. Jack Newell decided he wanted to document the process and examine the impact of this kind of international aid on a country like Haiti. The school was opened earlier this month and Jack plans to document the impact of the project on the community in Haiti for the next two years. He joins us to discuss aid and development in Haiti and his documentary How to Build a School in Haiti.
