Food Mondays: Preventing Food Waste Emissions
According to the Natural Resources Defense Council about 40 percent of American food goes to waste. And a big reason that happens is produce spoilage.
One company in Chicago called Hazel Technologies has been working on a tool to slow that spoilage. And they estimate that just this year they’ve prevented 20,000 tons of CO2 equivalents from being injected into the atmosphere.
