Mary Robinson is the former president of Ireland and the former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
Robinson said when she stepped away from politics into human rights advocacy, she did not fully appreciate the human rights consequences of the failure to protect the environment and delayed action on climate change. She would go on to form The Mary Robinson Foundation - Climate Justice.
Robinson is the keynote speaker at Loyola University Chicago’s annual Climate Change Conference on Thursday, March 16th, 2017. This year’s conference theme is “Climate Justice: The Struggle for Our Common Home.”
