Gateway To Tree Science At The Morton Arboretum

Science can sometimes feel inaccessible; Gateway to Tree Science is trying to change that. The new interactive outdoor exhibit at The Morton Arboretum features a half-mile wood-chipped path lined by living trees and information panels. The panels highlight the biology and function of trees, as well as the challenges trees face in cities and suburbs and the plight of endangered trees.Joining us to discuss some of the exhibit highlights, including how to care for our urban trees and cultivating resilient trees, are Nicole Cavender, vice president of science and conservation at The Morton Arboretum, and Julie Janoski, plant clinic manager at the arboretum.

This week, we’re broadcasting from the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois, sharing the beauty and science of the world around us with our listeners.
