India has well over 100 million children attending school. When the Indian government required school kids to have at least one hot meal, one effort to feed hot lunches to fifteen-hundred schoolchildren eventually became a project feeding 1.5 million students, daily.

 For our Global Activism segment, we talk with Gururaj (Desh) Deshpande and Himanshu Patel from the group Akshaya Patra, which means “The Inexhaustible Vessel” in Hindi. They tell us how feeding a child in school helps them outside of the classroom.
