In the mountains of India’s Manipur state, women artisans craft handmade black clay pottery, a traditional occupation passed down over generations.

But today globalization and mass production threaten their artistry.

We sit down with global activist Manvee Vaid, who is working with the women through the non-profit Terra Klay. She tells us why she feels a deep connection to the land and people of Manipur and why she’s in a race against time, politics and progress to help keep this rare craft alive
