Global Activism: Somebody's Mama is empowering women around the world

Two friends, Leia Johnson and Erika Wright, wanted to form a network of mothers that would help bring light and relief to the sufferings of mothers and their children around the world. They formed ‘Somebody’s Mama’ to create a space for empathy and action on issues like trafficking, maternal care and girls’ education. For Global Activism, We’ll talk with Johnson about her group that she calls “mamas, daughters, aunts, grandmothers, and friends who believe in the power of cooperation.” PHOTO: Courtesy of Somebody's Mama
