Global activist Amy Maglio was volunteering for the Peace Corps in Senegal when saw firsthand the many barriers there that kept girls from going to school. So, she decided to do something and created the Women’s Global Education Project (WGEP) to support girls’ education in Senegal and Kenya. Maglio is back for our Global Activism segment.

Today, she’ll update us on WGEP’s work that’s provided scholarships for over 1,700 African girls and helped thousands more get access to services like tutoring, mentoring, health workshops, counseling, and programs to offer communities alternatives to female genital mutilation.
