Child’s Pose, the latest film by Romanian director Calin Peter Netzer, tells the story of Barbu, who hits and kills a 14-year-old boy with his car. The driver’s mother, Cornelia, rushes to her son’s side to the police station to protect him. Then she and her husband scheme to get the son off by falsifying police reports, trying to bribe witnesses, and pressure the family of the dead boy not to press charges.
