The Carrefour Collaborative helps support Haiti’s music community. The organization was started by Chicagoan Paul Karner. The Carrefour Collaborative provides artistic grants to Haitian musicians and helps support a production studio in Leogane, Haiti. The idea is to help Haitian musicians record and produce their music in Haiti. Now, the group has begun a program to bring artists from Chicago down to Haiti to collaborate with Haitian musicians. Paul Karner, the founder of Carrefour Collaborative and Psalm One, a Chicago artist who recently traveled to Haiti with the Carrefour Collaborative, joins us to give us an update on how the project is going.
