Wendy Sternberg is founder and executive director of Genesis at the Crossroads (GATC). The group focuses on inter-religious and multiethnic bridge-building through “music and peacebuilding; human rights; peace journalism; and environmental sustainability.”

Saffron Caravan, an ongoing musical collaboration from GATC, “…unites… musicians from Iran, Afghanistan, Brazil, Cuba, Morocco, Israel, India and the United States to create new art [to] demonstrate that the arts can be used to build sustainable bridges between cultures, made stronger through educational initiatives.”

For our Global Notes segment, we’ll get an update from Sternberg. Two ensemble members will perform in-studio: Badi Assad, a Lebanese-Brazilian vocalist and guitarist; and percussionist, Javier Saume Mazzei, a native of Caracas, Venezuela.
