Musician Tabu Ley Rochereau, who was known as “the king of Congolese rumba,” died this week at the age of 76. He’s credited with internationalizing Congolese music by fusing the sounds of traditional Congolese folk music with Cuban, Caribbean and Latin American rumba. On this week’s Global Notes Radio M and Morning Shift host Tony Sarabia helps us pay tribute to the legendary singer-songwriter. (Photo: Flickr/MangoDJoos)
