The Nile River runs through 11 African countries and is the primary source of water for two of them: Sudan and Egypt. But drought, floods and pollution remains a threat. This week on Global Notes, Morning Shift and Radio M host Tony Sarabia introduces us to the musical collective The Nile Project, whose mission-through music- is to inspire cultural curiosity, highlight regional connections, and showcase the potential of trans-boundary cooperation. We’ll also talk with Nile Project co-founder Egyptian ethnomusicologist Mina Girgis. PHOTO: Courtesy of The Nile Project
