Haiti: An Earthquake, A Hurricane, And Foreign Aid

The United Nations has launched an appeal for nearly $120 million to help fund relief efforts in Haiti. The UN says some 1.4 million people need assistance in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew - everything from access to clean drinking water to the rebuilding of schools. 

 In the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, billions of dollars poured into the country, but questions have been raised about how those funds were spent. 

We discuss the problems with disaster aid in Haiti with Mark Schuller, a professor at Northern Illinois University and author of Humanitarian Aftershocks in Haiti.
