Legendary Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki’s latest film, The Wind Rises (Kaze Tachinu), is up for an Academy Award this weekend. Miyazaki says the film will be his last. WBEZ film contributor Milos Stehlik says he appreciates Miyazaki’s skill as an artist, but he’s not always a fan of his work. For a retrospective on the master director, Milos joins us, along with Beth Cary, co-translator and co-editor of the volumes Starting Point: 1979-1996 and Turning Point: 1997-2008 by Hayao Miyazaki. Cary is in Hollywood to assist Miyazaki at the Oscars. (Photo: Flickr/Thisfunktional)
