Iran signals it may want more open relationship with the West

It looks likely that President Obama and Iranian president Hassan Rouhani will meet next week for the first time. Both leaders will be attending the UN General Assembly in New York. In recent weeks the new president of Iran has made a series of gestures indicating he wants better relations with the United States. In an interview with NBC this week he said his government would never develop nuclear weapons, yet another signal that he may be seeking better diplomatic relations with the West. Iranian-American Nari Safavi tells us whether he believes relations between the United States and Iran are headed in a new direction.
