Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to annex Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank if he wins reelection this coming Thursday. This action would likely preclude the possibility of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad Malki has emphasized the large number of Palestinians living in the West Bank, responding to Netanyahu’s pledge by asserting that Israel cannot expel Palestinians. Currently, approximately 400,000 Israeli settlers and 2.8 million Palestinians live in the West Bank. Palestinian.
