We continue Worldview’s limited series, “A World Without,” with an overview of films that have dealt with apocalyptic shortages. WBEZ film contributor Milos Stehlik argues that dystopian futures are often displayed as results of human greed, avarice, or stupidity. We’ll go through some of the most interesting documentaries and narrative films that deal with impending shortages of the resources we depend on, and humans deal with them. Then, we’ll be joined by filmmaker Eugene Jarecki whose new film follows the life of Elvis Presley. It’s called “The King,” and it’s showing at the Music Box Theater and Wilmette Theaters.
