Tunisia’s president has a declared a state of emergency, just a little over a week since a massacre took place at tourist resort there. The president says “exceptional circumstances require exceptional measures. ” Thirty eight people were killed in beach resort attack. It came just months after terrorists stormed another popular tourist attraction, the Bardo Museum. We discuss the issue with William Lawrence, director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) programs at the Center for the Study of Islam and Democracy, and co-author of ‘After the Uprisings: Political Transition in Tunisia, Libya, and Yemen’.
