North Korea, nukes and negotiations

While in Asia, Secretary of State John Kerry said the Obama administration would engage in negotiations with North Korea after the country agreed to eventually give up its nuclear weapons program. Some have said that’s an unrealistic position, given the current tension in the region. Today, North Korea announced an end to sanctions and joint U.S.-South Korean military exercises as its own preconditions. Andrei Lankov, author of The Real North Korea, takes apart the U.S. strategy. He will also discuss his book at the Seminary Co-op Bookstore, 5751 S. Woodlawn Ave, on Monday, April 22nd from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. (Photo: AP Images).
