Obama promotes reform and democracy in Burma

President Obama’s visit in Burma has included a meeting with democracy activist and politician Aung San Suu Kyi as well as a meeting with Burmese President Thein Sein. In his meeting with Sein, Obama called for greater democratic reforms, in particular, greater recognition of rights for the Muslim Rohingya minority. We’ll talk about the visit and the state of democracy in Burma with Maureen Aung-Thwin, director of the Burma Project and Southeast Asia Initiative at the Open Society Foundation.
