Relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran have been strained ever since Saudi Arabia executed a Shiite cleric earlier this month. That move led to protests in Iran and Saudi Arabia recalling its Ambassador from Tehran. Now, Pakistan has made a move to help mediate a reconciliation between the two countries. Earlier this week Nawaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, went to Riyadh in an attempt to ease tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
