President Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, is facing his second day on trial in a Federal courtroom in Virginia. He’s the first subject of Robert Mueller’s investigation to stand criminal trial. But Manafort isn’t standing trial for possible collusion, Federal authorities accuse him of evading taxes on over $30 million earned from consulting with Ukraine’s disgraced ex-president Viktor Yanukovych. Manafort is credited with getting Yanukovych elected president of Ukraine in 2010, but after making major concessions to Russia in 2013, widespread protests ousted him from power. Before Ukraine, Manafort worked with strongmen in Zaire, the Philippines, Angola, and Pakistan. This morning, President Trump tweeted “Paul Manafort worked for Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other highly prominent and respected political leaders. He worked for me for a very short time. Why didn’t government tell me that he was under investigation. These old charges have nothing to do with Collusion - a Hoax!” We’re joined by investigative reporter Michael Isikoff of Yahoo News to discuss the trial.
