For 20 years, Chicago’s Fulcrum Point New Music Project says it has “[sought] to encourage audiences to make cross-cultural connections between new music, art, technology and literature, gaining greater insight into today’s diverse world”. The innovative music arts collaborative celebrates its 20th anniversary on Wednesday, December 19th, 2018, with an experience called, “Peace in Chicago: An Intergenerational Celebration.” Fulcrum calls it “a festive confluence of new art music, poetry, and hip hop, bringing together mentors and protégées in peaceful aspiration and jubilant affirmation”. We’ll get a taste of Wednesday’s extravaganza from Fulcrum Point’s artistic director, Stephen Burns, playing trumpet live in our Jim and Kay Mabie Performance Studio. Jamming with Burns will be The Juju Exchange.
