Polish President Visits Chicago

Poland’s President, Andrzej Duda, visited Chicago over the weekend. Duda met with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner to discuss trade and immigration issues. He also addressed a crowd of thousands, mainly from Chicago’s Polish community, in Millennium Park, and met with representatives from the Jewish community over a controversial new law that some say whitewashes Poland’s complicity in the Holocaust.

Conrad Nowak, former chairman of the board of the Polish American Association, joins us to discuss President Duda’s visit, politics in Poland, and the new Holocaust law. Nowak received President Duda as a member of the Warsaw Committee of Chicago — Sister Cities International.
