Riots in the suburbs of Sweden raise tension

Last week, the shooting death of a 69-year-old man by police prompted riots in Husby, primarily immigrant suburb near Stockholm. The shooting sparked riots in other suburbs, as well as a national debate on how to tackle high youth unemployment rates, a large inequality gap, and education cuts in under-served immigrant communities. Dr. Carl-Ulrik Shierup, Director for REMESO, the Institute for Research on Migration, Ethnicity and Society at Linkoping University in Sweden and Dr. Aleksandra Alund, professor at REMESO join us to explain why the riots occurred.
