Foreign policy almost never plays a deciding role in US Presidential elections. The 2012 election figures to be no different, but Mitt Romney’s gaffe-filled trip abroad may push foreign policy experience into the electorate’s radar. From openly criticizing London’s preparation ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games, to attributing Israel’s economic dominence over its Palestinian neighbors to “the hand of providence,” Romney has drawn sharp criticism from leaders and activists throughout his foreign tour.
