The U.S. has been the world’s largest producer of oil and natural gas liquids since 2014, according to BP’s “Statistical Review of World Energy.” The last time the U.S. led the world in oil production was 1973. The U.S. regained its fossil fuel dominance from fracking. Journalist and author Bethany McLean joins us to discuss her new book, Saudi America: the Truth about Fracking and How It Changed the World. In the book, she outlines economic drivers that contributed to America’s oil and gas production boom.
