Saudi Arabia’s government is working on a draft of grievances against Qatar. The Saudis are leading a coalition of Persian Gulf states which accuses Qatar of supporting extremism, terrorism and political chaos in the region. After President Donald Trump tweeted support for the Saudi position, the U.S. announced it would sell Qatar $12 billion in arms.

To analyze the Saudi-led diplomatic row with Qatar Worldview speaks with Joseph Kechichian, a senior writer for the Dubai-based Gulf News. Kechichian is the author of numerous books on the Persian Gulf region, including his most recent translation of Nabil Khalife’s book, The Attempt to Uproot Sunni-Arab Influence: A Geo-strategic analysis of the Western, Israeli and Iranian Quest for Domination.
