William Shakespeare regularly used war as a way to  reveal the human condition. 

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) is running a series on his war-themed works called Tug Of War, as part of their yearlong celebration Shakespeare’s 400th anniversary called Shakespeare 400-Chicago.

We talk about how Shakespeare’s sentiments on war still resonate with Barbara Gaines, artistic director and founder of CST and Stuart Sherman, professor of English at Fordham University, who collaborated with CST on the Tug of War project as the theater’s Scholar in Residence.
