Silk Road Rising Presents 'Great Expectations'

Theater companies, Silk Road Rising and Remy Bumppo, present “Great Expectations”, a play it calls “Dickens’ beloved tale of aspiration, intrigue, and romance [that’s] thrillingly transplanted to a colonized India…” We’ll talk about the show with Jamil Khoury, Silk Road Rising’s founding artistic director and Nick Sandys, producing artistic director for Remy Bumppo Theatre Company. He co-directed “Great Expectations”. We’ll also detail some of the related history of India’s colonial period with Rama Mantena, associate professor of history at University of Illinois at Chicago. “Great Expectations” runs through July 2nd, 2017 at Silk Road Rising at the Chicago Temple.
