Solidarity Soup: Top Chefs Support Chicago’s Immigrant Community

Over 20 top chefs think immigrants form "the backbone of our restaurants and the fabric of our community”.

The chefs -- including Jean Joho, Rick Bayless, and Stephanie Izard -- want to help several immigrant organizations with one day of soup sales. On March 7th, 2017, for a donation of 50 dollars, participants receive two pints of soup from two different chefs.

To explain the benefits of “Solidarity Soup,” Worldview spoke with organizer Bruce Sherman, a chef and partner at North Pond restaurant in Lincoln Park, and Ana Guajardo Carrillo, founding director of the Immigrant Workers’ Project (Centro de Trabajadores Unidos).
