President Obama has asked Congress for fast track trade authority on a new trade deal, the Trans Pacific Partnership(TPP). The Trans- Pacific Partnership is a proposed free trade agreement involving Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam which has been under negotiation for several years. Since no trade deal has ever failed once the president has fast track authority, the groups that oppose the TPP trade deal are focused on stopping fast track authority. We’ll find out why some groups oppose the TPP.
