Germany will hold parliamentary elections next fall. The anti-immigrant, populist far-right Alternative fuer Deutschland party (AfD), hopes to become the first far-right party to enter Germany’s parliament since 1945. Earlier this week, they beat out German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s party in northeast regional elections. Andreas Kluth of The Economist magazine joins us to talk about the rise of the AfD.
