Syrian refugees face a tough winter

The United Nation’s refugee agency estimates there are 3-point-8 million refugees from Syria. A rough winter is making is worse for some of them. President Obama plans to admit more Syrian refugees to the U.S. But Republican leaders of the House Committee on Homeland Security sent a letter to the White House last week, saying that plan could let potential terrorists into the country. They said the U-S doesn’t have adequate resources to investigate the backgrounds of all the refugees. Amnesty International is starting a campaign to build support for Syrian refugees here.
