A winter storm has hit parts of the Middle East and many Syrian refugees have had to face the difficult weather conditions without heat, winter clothes and adequate food and supplies. Syrian American Lina Sergie Attar just returned from a school for Syrian refugees where kids, some 1200, are studying without heat. She and her team spent a week with the kids, providing some relief through soccer and storytelling workshops, mural painting and photography. Attar is co-founder of the Karam Foundation, an organization that delivers humanitarian aid. She’ll tell us about her latest project to help Syrian kids cope with the trauma of civil war.
