El Salvador is set to eclipse Honduras as the country with the highest murder rate in the world. And the country’s gay, lesbian, and transgender community are often the target of that violence and discrimination. Matt Rooney is hoping to do something about that. He’s a retired partner and senior counsel at the Chicago office of the international law firm Mayer Brown. He’s just returned from El Salvador where he was training lawyers in how to take action on these kinds of cases and he shares details of that training.
