Gay pride parades are now global and widespread, but pride parades are hardly the same in every country. They engage their local social and sexual issues in different ways. Kareem Khubchandani,a doctoral candidate at Northwestern University focuses his research on queer South Asian performance and Joseph Jay Sosa, an anthropology PhD candidate at the University of Chicago, examines queer and democratic theory, urban life and geographies, and the relation between ethnographic method and writing.
