The country that comes to mind these days concerning warfare and media is Russia. Even though Russia has been accused of international cybercrimes, there are Russians trying to stop it.

A few weeks ago Worldview’s Jerome McDonnell sat down with Andrei Soldatov for a live conversation at the Chicago Humanities Festival. Soldatov is a co-founder of Agentura.ru, a Russian intelligence watchdog group. He’s also author of Red Web: The Struggle Between Russia’s Digital Dictators and the New Online Revolutionaries

Soldatov and McDonnell discussed modern Russian politics, the role of dissenters, along with the history and proliferation of major document hacks and leaks.
