Twenty years ago, an environmental organization called International Rivers initiated an International Day of Action for Rivers as a day for the world’s people to “lift their voices to celebrate the world’s rivers and those who struggle to protect them.”

We talk with Kate Horner, executive director of International Rivers, about the state of our planet’s waterways, which provide life for billions of people. The day of action takes place every March 14th.
