The link between government corruption and the rise of terrorist groups
In a recent Op-Ed, researcher Sarah Chayes argues that “much of the responsibility for the rise of the Boko Haram extremist group may lie with the Nigerian government itself,” and that government corruption is a big part of the problem. Sarah Chayes, a senior associate with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace’s South Asia program, joins us to discuss the link between corruption and national security.
