The need for women's rights in Israel

Feminists in Israel are concerned about the influence they feel religious extremists have over Israeli culture, as well as its secular law and institutions. Elana Maryles Sztokman is an Israeli-American feminist, activist and former executive director of the Jewish Orthodox Feminist Alliance (JOFA). She’s author of the new book, The War on Women in Israel: A Story of Religious Radicalism and the Women Fighting for Freedom. We’ll talk with her about what she believes are the disadvantages women have in Israel today and what women are doing about it.
