The new Pearson Institute for the Study and Resolution of Global Conflicts
The University of Chicago has created a new institute to address the rise of violent conflict around the world. The Pearson Institute, which will be housed at the Harris School of Public Policy, will focus on data driven research and look for new approaches to conflict resolution that will address the kinds of conflicts we see today- everything from the rise of groups like the Islamic State to sectarian violence. Daniel Diermeier, dean of the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, joins us to discuss what the Institute hopes to accomplish.
