As people are eating their leftover turkey, we thought we’d look at some of the things we don’t know about the holiday. The Thanksgiving story that kids are told each year has been repeated for generations. It’s a feel good story about bounty and giving thanks and a celebration of life in the new world. But a lot of people probably don’t even know which native American tribe took part in the first Thanksgiving feast. It was the Wampanoag. So we’re going to get a little history lesson and dig a little deeper into the Thanksgiving story, the native American one, with Andrew Johnson, executive director of the American Indian Center in Chicago.
