Many observers believe that Saudi Arabia’s recent refusal to become a temporary member of the UN Security Council is intended to signal to the United States that the kingdom is dissatisfied with U.S. policy in the Middle East. The U.S. and Saudi Arabia have maintained a strategic partnership since World War II but it looks like things might be shifting.
