Rape during war and conflict usually happens with impunity. The film, The Uncondemned, follows a group of international lawyers and activists as they fought in 1997 to make rape a war crime. The movie also documents the testimonies of Rwandan women who came forward to seek justice in the aftermath of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide. The Uncondemned will screen tonight at the Chicago Human Rights Watch film festival.

We talk about the film and its story with Schatzi Throckmorton, associate producer of The Uncondemned.
