The viral campaign for Nigeria's women

Recently, in Abuja Nigeria, a book club was discussing Nigerian feminist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s booklet, 'We Should All Be Feminists'. The dialogue evolved into a social media campaign. The hashtag #BeingFemaleInNigeria has gone viral on Twitter. This is the second time women and girls in Nigeria have become the focus of international attention through of social media. The hashtag campaign #BringBackOurGirls put the spotlight on the brutal kidnapping of over 250 schoolgirls by the militant group, Boko Haram. We’ll talk about the latest human rights campaign for Nigerian women and girls with journalist, Chika Oduah. She writes the blog Afrocentric Confessions and joins us from Abuja. (Photo: Flickr/DFID)
