Film contributor Milos Stehlik joins us to talk about three new films opening in theaters and the play Lolita de Lares focuses on a key moment in the history of the struggle for Puerto Rican independence.
The play recounts the story of Lolita Lebrón, a Puerto Rican nationalist who, in the name of independence, planned and executed an attack on the U.S. House of Representatives in 1954. Five congressmen were wounded by the shooters during the attack.
Liza Ann Acosta, the dramaturg of Lolita de Lares and global citizen Nari Safavi, joins us to discuss the play.
