Turkey's ongoing corruption scandal

A committee in the Turkish Parliament took up debate over a government backed proposal that would impact the oversight of judges and prosecutors. Critics of the legislation say it's an attempt to thwart a corruption investigation of the current government and limit the independence of the judiciary. The investigation has linked senior politicians to questionable business deals and led to the resignation of several top level government ministers. Ian Lesser, a senior director for foreign and security policy at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, explains how the internal shakeup could impact the country's foreign policy and role in the region.
